Reaffirming its commitment to health and social well-being, Biolab Farmacêutica supports the Academic Community Outreach Project (PECA) 2025. Since its creation in 2004, PECA has toured several cities in the interior of São Paulo. In this year's edition, in partnership with Biolab, the initiative expects to benefit around 700 people, carry out approximately 200 laboratory and imaging tests, 50 audiometries and 29 surgeries, including vasectomies, phimosis and saphenectomies. The services cover various areas, such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, nutrition, psychology, physiotherapy and speech therapy.
"We are honored to collaborate with such a significant project, which brings health and care to those who need it most. Biolab remains committed to actions that promote health, inclusion and social development, reaffirming its role as an agent of transformation in people's lives," says Tati Marques, Biolab's Director of Corporate Communication and Sustainability.
Coordinated by Dr. Roni Fernandes, assistant professor at FCMSCSP and specialist in uro-oncology, the project brings together around 270 students and 130 volunteers. As well as reducing the waiting list for specialized services, PECA promotes educational activities such as lectures and discussions on topics relevant to the health of the community.
"PECA goes far beyond medical care; it's a way of offering comprehensive and humanized care to communities that face difficulties in accessing health care. With the support of partners like Biolab, we are able to strengthen public health and promote practices that have a positive impact on the population's quality of life," says Dr. Roni Fernandes, the project's coordinator.
