Independent pharmacy group partners with industry giants
The recently founded Pharmaceutical Trade Federation (Fecofar), which brings together seven pharmacy chains that operate under the associative and franchise model, has established a partnership with some of the industry's leading brands. Aché, Biolab, Cimed, EMS and Neo Química are among 29 companies that have become cooperating partners of the organization, allowing them to negotiate discounts and supply terms. Fecofar also wants the industries to offer their members opportunities to improve, update and access technological tools that are currently restricted to large chains.
Fecofar was created in December 2023 to confront the companies that dominate the segment, such as RD Saúde, which owns Raia and Drogasil, and Grupo DPSP, the result of the merger between Drogaria São Paulo and Pacheco. The association was headed by businessman Willians Robles, who has worked in the pharmaceutical sector for around 20 years. Last Tuesday, the 7th, the association inaugurated its headquarters in Vila Olímpia, São Paulo.
