BRIEF DESCRIPTION/INDICATION
Donepezil is indicated for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and exerts therapeutic action by increasing the concentration of acetylcholine (a substance present at the junction between cells of the nervous system) through the reversible inhibition of its breakdown by the enzyme acetylcholinesterase (a type of enzyme that breaks down or inactivates acetylcholine).
